Cultural Atlas of New Mexico App

The Cultural Atlas is an interactive mobile app that includes descriptions New Mexico’s museums, historic sites, artworks, events, and landscapes. The app directs mobile users to attractions they might not have known about and may not realize are nearby using GPS to inform users of points of interest in their vicinity. A real-time events calendar also details public events happening in the area. One of our very own New Mexico Highlands University students, Matthew Gallegos, helped develop the app as part of his year-long paid internship with Doug Patinka at the New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs in Santa Fe.

The department of Media Arts and Technology has a partnership with the New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs to offer paid internships in cultural and community organizations throughout the state.
